A timeline of Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. from birth until 1962.
The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15,1929 (9). Martin Luther King Jr. began nursery school at the very young age of three years old in 1932 (5). After attending elementary school for one year Martin Luther King got expelled from school after his second grade teacher found out that he was only five years old which was a year too young to be in second grade in 1934 (5). The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. began attending high school at the thirteen in 1942 (5). Both the father and grandfather of Martin Luther King were pastors of the same church in Atlanta his grandfather served as pastor from 1914 to 1931 , his father served as the pastor between the years of 1931 and 1960 (7). Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. gave his first public sermon in 1947 at the church called The Ebenezer Baptist Church which his father was the pastor of it and before that his grandfather was the pastor of it (8).Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. graduated from Morehouse College in 1948 where he earned his Bachelor degree (4). Martin Luther King later attended Crozer Theological Seminary in 1951 and then a few years later at Boston University in 1955 he later earned his Doctor of Philosophy (4). The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. got married on June 18,1953 to a woman named Coretta Scott. The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. had four kids the first if them was a girl , she was born November 17,1955, his second child was Martin Luther The Third who was born two years after the birth of his sister, Martin Luther King's third child was born four years after Martin Luther The Third and his name was Dexter Scott , finally the fourth and final child of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. was Bernice Albertine, she was born March 28,1963 (4). The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. was also the founder and / or president of a lot of committee's / club that where dedicated to the advancement and equal rights and justice for colored people (8). In the year of 1957 was the year when Martin was the president of S.C.L.C , which stands for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, Martin was also the founder of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (8). The year of 1957 was a very good year for Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr., not only did he form and was the president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference ,but it was the first time that he appeared on the cover of a magazine, and the reason why this was so important towards the advancement of colored people was the fact of a Black man appearing on the cover of a widely distributed magazine that went world wide was a great accomplishment for a black person at that time and showed probably helped to show that Black people can be famous or acknowledged for their work which in turn leads back to the quest of Martin Luther King for the right and freedom to be treated equally as any other person from a different racial group (5). Martin visited the country of India for a month in 1959 (5). Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. started serving as an assistant pastor at the Ebenezer Baptist Church which his father and his grandfather were the pastor's of it before he became the assistant pastor in 1960 (5). The Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. got arrested a few moths after he became the assistant pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church while he was at a restaurant waiting to be severed , but he was later released after John Kennedy and Robert Kennedy found out about it and went to the jail that Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. was being held and helped him to get out of there (9). Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. went to jail a second time on July 27, 1962 (9). The year of 1963 I would think was one of the most important years for Martin Luther King, but that is outside the scope of this paper.
